William Anelay was appointed to carry out an extensive programme of refurbishment and remodelling work, which transformed this impressive stone and brick grade II* listed, city centre residence back into a family home. The property, constructed in the early Georgian period was extended during the Victorian Era and incorporates building materials as far back as the 15th century.,/
Externally the building was extensively repaired and refurbished to include re-roofing, reusing existing slates where possible. Chimneystacks were repaired and re-pointed. The cast iron gutters were restored and plastic drainage pipes were replaced with cast iron pipes, in keeping with the original building. Timber doors and windows were restored/replaced as necessary. Masonry fabric was re-pointed and replaced as required complimented by period style bound railings.
Internally the building benefitted from full new mechanical and electrical works throughout. The property was reordered to provide contemporary living space complimented by period decorations and finishes.
The project was completed and handed back to its owner in Winter 2010.
