The lead re-roofing of the Old Mill and New Mill
in Shipley, formed part of a larger project to convert mill buildings
into quality apartments. The use of traditional materials and
methods was vital to ensure the effective restoration of this
listed building. Approximately seventy tonnes of new lead was
laid to the two adjacent mill buildings.
The property was originally built as a woollen mill
in Shipley for Henry Mason, a senior manufacturer in the Bradford
trade, in 1873.
